For Pigmentation Concerns
What is Hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation is a common skin disorder, characterised by brown skin patches on the face and other sun exposed areas, leaving the complexion uneven. Both men and women can suffer from hyperpigmentation, but it is more common in women.
Melasma is a subtype of hyperpigmentation, which is a chronic condition that may arise in pregnancy or whilst on the pill. It is more common in in those with darker skin such as Mediterranean, Asian or Indian subtypes. Inappropriate heat treatments such as laser and IPL can also cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
Hyperpigmentation can be a difficult condition to manage and in some cases, there is no cure. Many women struggle with pigment for their whole adult lives. The good news is that we can help.
